Ikebana Vase 4
Every piece tells a story.
The interior of this Ikebana vase is made from ash that carries the memory of Vaia, the storm that hit the North-Eastern plateaus in 2018, felling millions of trees.
The ash from some pieces of wood collected on the Asiago Plateau has been transformed into glaze and used for the interior of the vase. Ash born from a natural event thus becomes part of a new object.
The vase is handmade from porcelain stoneware using a mixed technique. The exterior combines Luna glaze with naturally raw parts, creating a contrast between smooth surfaces and rougher, more textured areas.
Ikebana is the Japanese art of floral arrangement, which goes beyond simple composition. A meditative and philosophical practice, Ikebana expresses the relationship between man, nature, and space through a few carefully selected elements: flowers, branches, and leaves positioned according to principles of balance, asymmetry, and emptiness.
Also ideal for dried flowers or as a decorative object with refined proportions.

• Finish: ash interior glaze, moon glaze, natural parts slightly rough to the touch
• Material: Porcelain stoneware fired at high temperature (1250°)
